LOOKING FOR COMMITTED PEOPLE WHO ARE INTERESTED IN FIRST RESPONDER TRAINING:

A FIRST RESPONDER IS A PERSON WHO PROVIDES EMERGENCY RESPONSE TO ACCIDENTS, FIRST AID, OR WHEN AN AMBULANCE IS CALLED.

THIS IS VOLUNTEER WORK AND UNPAID TRAINING.  IT IS AN INVESTMENT INTO YOUR COMMUNITY.  INTERESTED PERSONS MUST HAVE ACCESS TO A VEHICLE AND HAVE A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE.

 CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

Moosomin First Nation is seeking interested Band Members to sit on the Housing Committee.   This Committee is needed urgently to work on the Housing Policy and accept applications and recommend candidates for the new CMHC housing that will be arriving shortly.

 

                             HOUSING COMMITTEE

 

The qualifications needed to sit on a Committee include:

v  A Moosomin Band Member who is at least 18 years of age

v  Has a strong interest in the planning and provision of services to the  Membership of Moosomin First Nation, including the development of policies

v  Does not have a Criminal Record (unless the conviction does not impede the performance of his/her duties and would not bring the Committee into disrepute)

v  Is a community members who can provide his or her expertise, experiences, education, cultural knowledge and sound judgment to the Committee

v  Employees of Moosomin Band are welcome to apply, but cannot be appointed to the Committee through which they are employed

v  Elders will also be appointed to each Committee for guidance and advice

v  Roles and Responsibilities will be defined in Terms of Reference and training / orientation for all Committee Members

v  All persons appointed to Committees will be required to sign and adhere to an Oath of Office and conflict of interest guidelines

 

Please submit your letter of interest to the Moosomin Band Office, Office of the Band Manager.

 

Please submit a letter of interest by:  FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 27, 2015

 

Those selected for appointment will be contacted regarding an orientation session.

                       

 

 

NOTICE TO MOOSOMIN BAND MEMBERS:

 

Effective immediately, Band Member Support funds will only be provided in cases of medical/health emergency under Policy.   This is due to the high number of requests and the limited funding available.  We thank you for your understanding.

        Sports and Recreation Committee

 

        Housing Committee

 

The qualifications needed to sit on a Committee include:

v  A Moosomin Band Member who is at least 18 years of age

v  Has a strong interest in the planning and provision of services to the  Membership of Moosomin First Nation, including the development of policies

v  Does not have a Criminal Record (unless the conviction does not impede the performance of his/her duties and would not bring the Committee into disrepute)

v  Is a positive role model in the community who can provide his or her expertise, experiences, education, cultural knowledge and sound judgment to the Committee

v  On-reserve Band Members may only be considered for programs where the jurisdiction of these programs and services is only on-reserve

v  Employees of Moosomin Band are welcome to apply, but cannot be appointed to the Committee through which they are employed

v  Roles and Responsibilities will be defined in Terms of Reference and training / orientation for all Committee Members

v  All persons appointed to a Committee will be required to sign and adhere to an Oath of Office, and a small honoraria will be paid

 

Please submit your letter of interest, stating the specific Committee you wish to sit on, to the Moosomin Band Office, Office of the Band Manager.
